Friday Sep 01, 2023
We are diving into meditation and spirituality for today's campfire with my guest Swami Nityananda.
About Swami
Swami Nityananda became a student of Swami Shankarananda in 2010. Swami Shankarananda, who founded the meditation community, immediately recognized her as his successor. He announced that publicly in 2013 when he consecrated her as spiritual teacher and spiritual leader of the meditation community. In 2014 he consecrated her as a Swami and asked her to carry on his lineage and the teaching of Kriya Yoga. Since 2014 she has volunteered as spiritual teacher and spiritual leader of Awake Yoga Meditation.
As Juniper Ellis, she is Professor of English at Loyola University, where she teaches American Literature and World Literature Written in English. She earned her PhD at Vanderbilt University. She has held Fulbright grants in New Zealand and Germany, and other national awards including an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship and an NEH grant. Her book Tattooing the World: Pacific Designs in Print and Skin was published by Columbia University Press. Her scholarly articles have appeared in respected journals in many English-speaking countries.
Her teaching helps listeners and readers connect with the reality of love, wisdom, liberation, joy, harmony, and kindness. People who meditate with her find Swami Nityananda practices a selfless way of living in the world that asks, "How may I be of service?" and models through open-hearted, generous, and effervescent guidance, a path for us all to recognize our own inherent divine qualities, and to see the same in everyone.

321. Hillary Dahi on the Gems hidden under the struggle
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Friday Aug 25, 2023
In today's podcast episode, I took some time out while exploring one of Michigan's GEMS hunting units to set up this beautiful conversation. Which was a very fitting location to share with you. My guest at the campfire is a transformation coach. Who learned the skills she shared with her clients by taking the reins of her own life. Hilary Dahi hit that point many of us come across. Where we figure out that our current skin no longer fits us. By facing the fear of blazing a new trail for herself Hilary uncovered her true purpose in life and lives to share her journey to help others blaze their new trails. What makes our conversation so special is how Hilary shares the struggles of discovery. Instead of staying the victim with the story. She blended grace and understanding with drive and a willingness to learn.

Friday Aug 18, 2023
At the campfire, we join by Paul Granger to explore spirituality.
About Paul
Through serving in various forms of ministry for over two decades, Paul has realized the predominant theme has been cultivating authentic, accessible space to process God and life. You can learn more about me through my profile, my podcast "Where did you see God", and at wheredidyouseeGod.com.The "shepherding/pastoral" gifting gives Paul the unique ability to cultivate rich dialogue and process life's difficult questions. While he has many stories to share of his journey of learning who God is, who he is, and what that means for his life, he knows God can use any conversation to do "abundantly more" than simply telling his stories.Paul enjoys sharing what it means to take crazy steps of faith, persevere through hardship, and hold firm to the belief that "God is God and God is good", no matter the circumstances.
